Our Leading Gear Developer: Passionate About Precision

Throughout his 38-year career, John Nymoen has become a pioneer in gear production. His passion for craftsmanship and precision has made colleagues proud and customers satisfied for years. However, John’s story could have been very different, as he ended up among chips and machines by chance.

John started his mechanical career in 1986 when he got his very first job.

– My first job was at a manufacturing company where I did all sorts of things and helped wherever there was a need. I learned a lot. I took that experience with me when I started at my next employer, and that’s where I began working with gear production.

Tradition and Innovation

His interest in machining and precision allowed John to quickly stand out. It is his thoroughness and attention to detail that have made him a key person at Stryvo.

– But it’s important to have loyal colleagues, smiles John, patting the large green machine that is currently milling a gear.

He continues:
– This one is probably around 60 years old, but it’s surprisingly trouble-free. Many switch to more modern equipment, but here at Stryvo, we have both. This combination of old and new gives us an incredible number of production possibilities here in the workshop.

Precision and Quality

John’s focus on delivery precision and quality is well-known beyond Stryvo’s offices. This has led to the company having a loyal customer base.

– For me, it’s important that customers always receive the highest quality products, and on time, he says firmly.

John takes the finished gear out of the machine and places it with the other exactly the same-sized gears.

– I want to be proud of every single product we send out from this workshop, he emphasizes, continuing:

– And when customers keep sending us new products and projects, I really enjoy being part of the development of those. I can work with various types of materials, and it also provides me with variation in the work.

Leisure and Relaxation

When John isn’t in the workshop, he enjoys relaxing with table tennis and fishing.

– It gives me peace and balance, he says.

Table tennis helps John keep his reflexes sharp, while fishing gives him time to reflect and unwind. It’s no coincidence that John has become so skilled at gear production, considering the hobbies he enjoys outside of work.

– I’ve always liked working with my hands, concludes John, as he fine-tunes the gear that is soon ready to be sent out to the customer.
