More Productive with Upgraded Facility
After the 2023 season, Innvik Fruktlager SA saw a major need to streamline their logistics operations and expand their storage capacity. When they were denied permission to build a new facility on their existing site, they had to come up with a smart solution to expand their current premises. The answer was found on the other side of the Innvik Fjord.

Innvik Fruktlager has roots going all the way back to 1952, the same year their iconic blue building and current facilities were constructed. They are an organization that distributes fruit, berries, and vegetables from local producers to end-users across the country.
Previously, Innvik Fruktlager didn’t have space to store packaging materials in the same area as their products. With the expansion, they’ve gained over 650 square meters of additional space, along with several smart upgrades aimed at improving efficiency.
A Smarter, New Version
– We originally wanted to build a new structure out here, but our application to fill in the shoreline was rejected, explains general manager Anita Roset, while showing off her upgraded workplace.
Stryvo designed the building and supplied all materials and assembly. Parts of the facility were clad with new construction, and they added an entirely new floor to the main building.
– Now that we can store cardboard packaging on the second floor, something we couldn’t do before, everything runs much more smoothly. We can also drive forklifts in and out of the building now that the new gates are in place. Our workdays are going to be a lot easier, says Anita.
The thermometer reads 24 degrees, a reminder that the season for juicy plums, apples, and raspberries is just around the corner. While Innvik is bathed in sunlight, the temperature inside the cooling rooms is a chilly four degrees. Anita enters a code and opens one of the building’s large, new doors.
– We got a new gate with direct access to the cooling room here. That way, we can drive the goods straight into storage. We also wanted a gate for the brand-new second floor, and Robin made that happen, Anita smiles.
Robin Gulliksson is the head of construction at Stryvo and worked as project manager for the upgraded building. He has made many trips to Innvik recently and emphasized the importance of being available to ensure the best possible outcome. He explains:
– Since Innvik Fruktlager and Anita didn’t get approval for a brand-new building, it was essential to implement all the changes they wanted in their existing facility. These upgrades enable them to work smarter and give them as much capacity as possible. We’ve tried to be as adaptable as we can to meet their needs.

Unexpected Challenges
During the winter, a water leak posed an unforeseen challenge to the project.
– It was very unfortunate and had to do with the roof structure. But we managed to resolve the issue quickly and continued as planned, Robin explains.
– The short distance between Stryn and Innvik really worked in our favor. The leak was taken care of quickly and smoothly, Anita adds.
Despite some unexpected bumps along the way, Anita is very pleased with the project. She especially highlights the collaboration as a key reason for its success:
– The team at Stryvo really gave it their all! We’re very happy with the communication throughout the process and with how the result turned out. It’s a bonus that we’ve preserved and can still see the outline of the old roof, Anita concludes.
