Our history
Some companies are built on coincidences. Stryvo was built on ambition. When founder Mathias Bøe established Stryn Vognfabrikk in 1947 together with his brothers, it was with a vision to deliver innovative and solid craftsmanship. It began as a small workshop but over time evolved into a company that saw opportunities where others saw limitations.

Eventually, we outgrew our original market and entered a broader industrial world. The name “Stryvo” was chosen to reflect this development. Through generations, we have combined traditional craftsmanship with modern technology, and step by step, we have grown into a reliable industrial partner for customers across the globe.
Strengthened presence
Our ability to grow lies in our desire to constantly become a little better. In 2013, Stryvo Bismo became part of the company. This allowed Stryvo to gain specialized expertise in hatches, pipes, process packages, and seawater filters—important components for, among others, hydropower, renewable energy, and offshore wind.
With the acquisition of Brødr. Skaug Mekanisk Verksted AS and Brødr. Sundt AS, we strengthened our presence in Oslo, and Stryvo Oslo AS became a reality. With expertise in complex CNC machining and the processing of high-alloy steel, we can deliver services to some of the most demanding industries, such as oil and gas.
In 2021, we took another strategic step forward by strengthening our focus on service and maintenance. With increased expertise and capacity in mobile machining, overhauls, and field service, we have further developed our role as a leading service partner for the industry.
Built on ambition
Over the years we have grown, but we have never lost what makes us Stryvo: Our belief in quality, safety, and a spirit of innovation. We are a company built on people, and we know that it is our employees who create the value we deliver.
From our workshops in Stryn, Bismo, and Oslo, we develop, produce, and maintain solutions that keep the industry running. We do this with just as much pride today as on the day the first cartwheel rolled out of the forge in 1947.
We look back on our history with respect, but even more importantly – we look ahead. Because industry is not just about creating products, it’s about creating opportunities. And that’s what we will continue to do, just as we always have.
